Actress and social media personality Ashwini Reddy, who is popularly known as Ashu Reddy, has landed in controversy after reports surfaced about an alleged financial cheating case involving over ₹9 crore. The case is said to have been registered by the Hyderabad City Central Crime Station (CCS) police against the actress and her family members.According to the complaint filed by a London-based software engineer, identified as Y.V. Dharmendra was in a long-term relationship with Ashu Reddy that began in 2018 after they met in Hyderabad. He claims that their friendship gradually turned into a romantic relationship, during which she allegedly promised marriage. The complainant further alleges that, under the pretext of marriage, he transferred significant amounts of money, gold, and other assets—some of which were reportedly registered in her name. He also stated that despite marriage discussions and certain rituals, the wedding never materialized. The complaint reportedly accuses Ashu Reddy and her family of financial cheating amounting to over ₹9.35 crore. Responding strongly to the allegations, Ashu Reddy has denied all claims. Taking to social media, she stated that false and misleading information is being circulated without her consent. She also issued a warning that legal action would be taken against individuals and platforms spreading unverified reports. Ashu Reddy is known for her appearances in films like Chal Mohan Ranga (2018), Focus (2022), and Spark: L.I.F.E. (2023), along with projects such as Yevam (2024) and Padmavyuham Lo Chakradhari (2024). She is currently working on upcoming films, including Circus Car 2 (2025) and Trimukha (2026). The case is expected to unfold further as legal proceedings progress.
