TGSRTC Strike Enters 2nd Day; Buses Stay in Depots, Passengers Face Hardship

Hyderabad: For the second consecutive day, TGSRTC buses were confined to depots as the employees continued their strike in support of their demands. The ever-bus Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) in Afzalgunj, Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secunderabad and bus depots in twin cities wore a deserted look due to the strike. Following the RTC strike, passengers faced several hardships since morning to reach their destination. As the private travel operators were charging exorbitant charges, most passengers preferred to travel in Hyderabad Metro Rail and Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS.) These trains were packed to the brims with passengers struggling to get a seat. Fighting all odds, the passengers managed to reach their destination. Meanwhile, an Argument took place between police and RTC workers in front of Suryapet depot on Thursday morning over operating buses. Workers expressed their anger towards police over sending buses out when strike is on vogue In Jangoan, an employee pleaded with the police not to stop the ongoing strike. “We will beg at your feet, please do not stop the strike,” the employee said when the RTC management is obstructing them and, under police security, running buses with private drivers. In this process, an RTC worker fell at the feet of the police and pleaded with them not to obstruct their strike and not to run the buses. The district police are operating buses from the depot by assigning a constable as security for each bus.
