VIJAYAWADA: Former MLA TJR Sudhakar Babu on Saturday alleged that lawlessness in Andhra Pradesh had reached alarming levels and accused coalition MLAs of excesses, including attacks on women, harassment of officials and criminal behaviour.Addressing the media at the YSRC central office in Tadepalli, he claimed incidents at toll plazas, including alleged assaults and kidnappings by supporters travelling in vehicles carrying MLA stickers, reflected a breakdown of governance. He alleged that the government had remained silent over such incidents. Sudhakar Babu criticised Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and minister Nara Lokesh for failing to act, alleging that internal power struggles had emboldened MLAs. He further alleged that women were facing harassment despite serious complaints and video evidence against certain legislators, with no action being taken. The former MLA also claimed Dalit youth were being targeted through “Red Book” politics and said intimidation of officials had become routine. He alleged that industries were being coerced for payments, with illegal collections in transport, mining and contracts, while enforcement agencies remained inactive. Sudhakar Babu asserted that only Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership could restore order in the state.
