Hyderabad: A technical glitch in the Bhu Bharati portal of the revenue department on Friday disrupted hundreds of land registration applications, halting transactions estimated at around ₹100 crore. The issue began around 11:40 am and continued through the day, leaving citizens who had scheduled registrations stranded. Staff members also raised concerns over the portal’s efficiency and urged the Telangana government to address recurring problems. The Integrated Bhu Bharati portal, introduced as a replacement for the Dharani system, serves as the state’s unified digital platform for land records management.Revenue employees said such glitches have become frequent, citing issues like data migration failures, records getting stuck in “processing” mode, and difficulties in uploading documents. They also pointed out discrepancies arising from the “Edit” option and delays in updating ownership details.Dr S.M. Hussaini Mujeeb, chairman of the Registration and Stamps Department United Forum, said the glitches are impacting state revenue and causing inconvenience to the public.“People block their day, take leave, and travel long distances for registrations. These disruptions affect both citizens and government revenue,” he said, urging authorities to streamline the portal and prevent further technical issues.
