HYDERABAD: The annual Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Summer coaching camps commenced on Saturday and will continue till May 31. The camps, for children aged six to 16, cover 44 sports disciplines and are being held at 752 centres from 6 am to 8 am. Children can register through the GHMC portal sports.ghmc.gov.in by paying nominal membership charges. Services of part‑time and honorary coaches are being utilised. Sports offered include cricket, archery, basketball, football, tennis, netball, roller skating, throwball, cycling and swimming, along with Indian wrestling, taekwondo, wushu, boxing, kickboxing, judo, Muay Thai and karate. As part of the camp, GHMC will conduct zone‑wise sports quizzes from May 5 to 11 and tournaments in 16 games from May 18 to 23.
