Faster Public Grievance Redressal Top Priority: Ponguleti

Nalgonda: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday said the state government had adopted measures to ensure quicker resolution of public grievances by improving access to officials. Addressing a Praja Darbar at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Palair, Kusumanchi mandal of Khammam district, he said the Congress government prioritised people-centric governance after assuming office. He attributed the party’s electoral victory in Telangana to public dissatisfaction with the previous BRS government, alleging that people’s aspirations had remained unfulfilled.Under Chief Minister A/ Revanth Reddy, the administration was focusing on effective implementation of welfare initiatives, he said. Officials had been directed to visit villages and receive petitions directly from the public as part of Praja Palana, he added. The minister said mandals in the Palair Assembly constituency had been divided into three clusters, each covering 10 to 13 gram panchayats, to facilitate Praja Darbars. An action plan was in place to resolve eligible grievances within three months. He said a majority of petitions received related to Indiramma housing. In the first phase, 4.5 lakh houses had been sanctioned to eligible beneficiaries. Funds were being credited to beneficiaries’ bank accounts every Monday based on construction progress, which had improved public confidence. He added that the second phase would be launched soon. On land issues, the minister said the government aimed to make Telangana free of land disputes by introducing mandatory land surveys and map registration during property transactions. A system to assign a unique ‘Bhudhaar’ number to each land parcel, similar to Aadhaar for individuals, would be piloted in Kusumanchi mandal. He also announced a mega job fair in Khammam on May 4, with participation from 80 companies, and urged unemployed youth to attend. District collector T.S. Divakara and officials from various departments were present.
