Hyderabad: The state government has sanctioned Rs.150 crore for the development of infrastructure in Future City and an additional Rs.247 crore for infrastructure works along the Musi river. The fresh allocations are aimed at expediting two key urban development projects of Congress government in the new financial year 2026–27.The funds for Future City were released based on proposals submitted by Future City Development Authority (FDCA) commissioner K. Shanshanka, while the allocation for Musi-related infrastructure works was cleared in accordance with proposals sent by HMDA commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad.According to orders issued on Friday by special chief secretary, metropolitan area and urban development department, Jayesh Ranjan, the government has accorded administrative sanction of Rs.150 crore for undertaking infrastructural works within the FDCA limits. These works include widening and strengthening of roads, construction of culverts, rejuvenation of water bodies, and development of allied infrastructure across the Future City area.In a related development, the government also sanctioned Rs.229 crore for taking up the construction of a major bridge for service roads on either side of the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and for the formation of a new service road from ORR Exit No. 18A interchange up to Narsingi Ring along the Musi river.These works will be executed by Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL). The orders specify that the projects should be undertaken by inviting tenders through the e-procurement platform, either in EPC mode or BOQ mode, with expenditure to be met from HMDA funds.The government also sanctioned Rs.18.5 crore for completing the balance works of a high-level bridge at Rudravelly–Julur across the Musi river in Bibinagar, Pochampally mandal of Yadadri Bhongir district. These works will also be taken up through the e-procurement process, with funding from HMDA.The allocations are in line with the Budget 2026–27, in which the state government earmarked an initial Rs.300 crore for the FCDA to develop the 30,000-acre Future City, envisioned as a net-zero hub incorporating an AI City, Pharma Hub, and Sports City. Additionally, Rs.1,500 crore was allocated for the Musi rejuvenation project.
