Hyderabad: Following High Court and Supreme Court orders, HYDRAA removed boards mentioning its name and that of Bathukammakunta from the lake premises in Amberpet on Tuesday. The agency also removed the inauguration plaque unveiled by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy from the lake premises. The Supreme Court on Monday had refused to intervene in the Bathukammakunta land dispute, effectively upholding the Telangana High Court order that directed HYDRAA to remove all structures built on the contested land in Bagh Amberpet. The High Court had earlier found HYDRAA in violation of its status quo order, and held Commissioner A.V. Ranganath in contempt. The court ordered that all constructions on the lake, including parks, open gym equipment, gates, walls, fencing, signboards and other markers were to be removed within four weeks. The court directed that the land be restored to its original condition, and specifically directed that any indication of HYDRAA’s control or claims over the land must be cleared.HYDRAA challenged this directive in the Supreme Court. However, the apex court declined to intervene, noting that the matter was pending before the High Court and it would not pass any order at this stage. With this, officials removed the name board and inauguration plaque from the lake premises. Police were also deputed at the lake site to ensure no unrelated elements interfere with the disputed property.
