BJP’s ‘Jan Akrosh Padayatra’ on April 23

Hyderabad:The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced large‑scale protests across Telangana to condemn what it termed the anti‑women policies of the Congress party and the I.N.D.I.A. bloc.State president N. Ramchander Rao appealed to women to participate in the ‘Jan Akrosh Padayatra’ scheduled in Hyderabad on April 23. The march will begin at the GHMC office and proceed through Domalguda to Indira Park, as part of the BJP’s campaign to project the Congress‑led alliance as opposed to women’s empowerment.Rao alleged that the Congress had obstructed women’s progress for decades and accused it of opposing the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament. He claimed the legislation was aimed at ensuring fair representation for women in legislative bodies, but the Congress and its allies politicised and blocked the move.He further accused the Congress of shelving women’s reservations for years and “stifling Nari Shakti,” adding that the time had come to expose the “true colours” of the party and its allies.
