NTR Collector Opens RBVP Children’s Science Exhibition in Gunadala

VIJAYAWADA: NTR collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha inaugurated the district-level Rashtriya Bal Vaigyanik Pradarshan (RBVP) at St Joseph’s English Medium High School in Gunadala of Vijayawada on Friday along with AP Kummari Shalivahana Welfare and Development Corporation chairman P. Eshwar and education department officials.Held under the theme “STEM for a Developed and Self-Reliant India,” the exhibition showcased 169 projects prepared by students on sub-themes, including sustainable agriculture, waste management, green energy, future technologies, mathematical recreation, health, water resource management and conservation. Speaking on the occasion, the collector said children’s science exhibitions are vital for nurturing a scientific temper among students from a young age. Such exhibitions help children enhance creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Dr. G. Lakshmisha said innovation emerges when theoretical knowledge is combined with hands-on skills. Platforms like science exhibitions help identify students with unique talents, who could pursue higher goals in their careers. Highlighting the power of science, the collector pointed out that modern mobile technology itself is based on nearly seven Nobel Prize-winning discoveries. He said with collective efforts of “Team NTR,” the district aims to emerge as a leader in knowledge and overall development. Addressing the gathering, Kummari corporation chairman Eshwar said every participant in the exhibition must be treated as a winner for their drive. He felt such platforms play a key role in shaping future scientists who will contribute to the nation’s holistic growth. Others present on the occasion included NTR district educational officer L. Chandrakala, school correspondent Father Varaprasad, headmistress Sister Shiny Thomas, Examinations assistant commissioner Rambabu, district science officer K. Pichcheswara Rao, and DCEB secretary Umar Ali.
