Pawan Calls for Film Infra Boost in Andhra Pradesh

KAKINADA: AP Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan spoke of secularism while calling upon people to be on alert about foreign forces trying to destabilise India with the support of some internal forces. After receiving the guard of honour on Independence Day at Kakinada on Friday, Pawan Kalyan said certain countries are unable to bear India’s rapid development. “They are thus putting restrictions on the country and encouraging internal forces,” he charged. The Deputy CM underlined that there is no need to teach India about secularism, as the secular spirit is an inherent part of it. It gives equal importance to Muslims and other religions, which are living happily in the country. He said law and order needs to be strengthened and the NDA alliance government in AP is giving priority to the same. He pointed out that due to laxity in law and order and corruption, there had been attacks on Mumbai. Pawan Kalyan said the alliance government has strengthened law and order at the Kakinada Port, after the previous governments allowed export of public distribution system rice and illegal transport of diesel from the port. “If we had left the Kakinada Port alone, it may have (by now) imported arms and bombs,” he stated. The Deputy CM cited the example of Uttar Pradesh, saying unruly governments there eight years ago meant the state attracted no investments. But after Yogi Adithya Nath assumed charge as Chief Minister of UP and strengthened law and order, ₹15 lakh crore of investments have been made into that state. Pawan Kalyan observed that India did not achieve Independence with non-violence movement. “There had been a lot of violence before Independence and many people, including women, sacrificed their lives. He said the state would remember and recognise the sacrifices of women. Speaking about the district’s development, Pawan Kalyan said the MCH block in the Government General Hospital at Kakinada will be completed by December at a cost of ₹42 crore, which the old students of Rangaraya Medical College have donated. He pointed out that a Critical Care Block is being constructed under PM-Ayushman Bharat Hospital Infrastructure Mission at a cost of ₹23.75 crores. Proposals for construction of OPD and IPD blocks at a cost of ₹402 crore have been sent to the government for its approval. The Deputy CM said the Pithapuram Community Health Centre is being upgraded with 100 beds at a cost of ₹38.32 crore. Those present on the occasion included district collector S. Shan Mohan and SP Garikipati Bindu Madhav. On the occasion, Pawan Kalyan presented awards to best performing officials and social activists, including Indian Dental Association member Dr. Addala Satyanarayana, DCMS manager V. Srinivas, and special branch DSP K.V.V. Satyanarayana, among others.
