Hyderabad:A day after some individuals and YouTubers circulated videos allegedly aimed at inciting communal hatred, the Hyderabad cyber crime police registered cases against them on Saturday.North zone deputy commissioner of police Rashmi Perumal said that certain individuals and YouTube channels had shared communally sensitive content linked to an incident at Monda Market. The material, she said, has the potential to provoke enmity between religious groups.“The tone and presentation of these posts on social media platforms appear intended to alarm the public and disrupt communal harmony in Hyderabad. The content may lead to public disorder and disturbance of peace, particularly in the present social context,” the DCP said.She added that in view of the seriousness of the matter, a case has been registered against the individuals and YouTube channels under Sections 196 and 353(2) of the BNS by the cyber crime police.Woman constable dies by suicideHyderabad:A 28-year-old woman constable from Meerpet, reportedly struggling with financial issues, died by suicide after undergoing treatment for over a week. She took the extreme step on July 25 at around 11.30 am and died on Saturday. According to investigating officer Srinivas Reddy, the deceased, Mounika, was a 2020 batch constable posted at the Meerpet police station for the past five years.Her father, in a complaint, alleged that she had been facing financial distress, which may have driven her to take the extreme step. She was admitted to a private hospital in Nampally, where she passed away while under treatment.Though initial reports suggested that her complaint mentioned harassment by her husband and in-laws as the main reason, Meerpet police have denied this claim.A case has been registered under Section 194 of the BNS. Her body was shifted to the Osmania Hospital for postmortem and handed over to her family around 4 pm. Further investigation is ongoing.Fire mishap in KukatpallyHyderabad:A fire broke out at a bike mechanic shop in Balajinagar, Kukatpally, on Saturday morning. No casualties were reported. Kukatpally station fire officer T. Jagan Mohan said an electrical defect is suspected to have triggered the fire.Locals alerted the fire department soon after noticing flames. A fire engine was dispatched and the blaze was brought under control within 30 minutes. Property loss is estimated to be around `4 lakh. Further investigation is underway.
