Mangaluru: After nearly a decade on the run, a man wanted in connection with a 2015 rape case in Vitla has been arrested from Bihar by the Dakshina Kannada district police.The accused, identified as Babloo Kumar from Patna in Bihar had been absconding for years after a case was registered against him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including rape, house trespass, and criminal intimidation.The incident occurred on the night of November 4, 2015, at a residence in the jurisdiction of Vitla police station. Following the incident, a case was registered under IPC Sections 448, 341, 323, 376(G), 506, and 34.Despite repeated summons, Babloo Kumar had failed to appear before the court for trial and was absconding. Acting on a tip-off, Vittla Police traced him to Behta in Patna district and, with the cooperation of local Bihar police, took him into custody.He was brought to Karnataka and produced before the court on July 13. Further legal proceedings are underway.
