Kakinada: Activists of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal created a flutter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) campus by removing the Pakistan Flag from among the flags of 192 countries.These flags had been paced at the university’s premises five months ago to create awareness among its students about the various countries in the world.On Saturday evening, eight persons belonging to VHP and Bajrang Dal led by their leaders D. Venkateswara Rao and V. Surendra respectively arrived at the university and demanded the removal of the various flags.The two leaders tried to meet the vice chancellor and registrar of JNTUK, who had not been present at the time. They demanded that university authorities remove the flags placed on the premises.A little later, they removed the Pakistan Flag from among the various flags and carried it away, raising slogans Bharat Matha Ki Jai.Sarpavaram police rushed to the spot and enquired about the matter.JNTUK registrar Ravindranath said the flags of different countries had been erected to create awareness among university students about the various countries in the world.
