A private travels bus was completely gutted in a fire on the Kovvur flyover in the early hours of Wednesday. According to DSP Devakumar and CI K. Vishwam, the bus was traveling from Khammam to Visakhapatnam when it reached the Kovvur flyover and reportedly developed a self-motor short circuit.The short circuit triggered a sudden fire, following which the driver immediately stopped the vehicle. All six passengers and four staff members onboard managed to escape safely without any injuries.Fire department personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. The passengers were later shifted to another bus to continue their journey. Kovvur Fire Officer AVN S. Venu said the estimated loss due to the incident is around ₹80 lakh.
