Thousands To Attend Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Festivities In Secunderabad From Sunday

HYDERABAD: The Ujjaini Mahankali Temple Lashkar will see thousands of devotees taking part in the Bonalu festivities commencing 4 am on Sunday. Temples in Secunderabad have been adorned with flowers and vibrant illumination. The temples will see devotional chants, drum beats, and the thunderous energy of Potharajus. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is expected to offer silk clothes to the Goddess at around 11 am. The major part of the festivities is offering bonam to the Goddess Mahankali. As a large number of devotees are expected to take part in the two-day festivities, the temple committee has made elaborate arrangements to ensure devotees do not face hardships. The Joginis and Shivasattulu have been advised to visit the temple between 1 pm and 3 pm. “This year arrangements have been made after reviewing mistakes of the previous years. The six queue lines are arranged as two for devotees carrying bonam, two queues for the general public and two for VIPs,” said G. Manohar Reddy, executive officer Ujjaini Mahankali temple. The Water Board has arranged drinking water facilities at several locations; five health camps have been set up by the health department and the GHMC is on the job of providing sanitary facilities. Separate generators have been arranged by the electricity department. The Telangana RTC announced 170 special buses from key locations to Secunderabad.
