I’m not sure if that was ‘wow, they called you’ or ‘wow, you’ll be good on it.’” Diljit: Jewels, juttis and wow! Diljit Dosanjh channeled full Maharaja energy in an all-white Prabal Gurung creation that screamed royalty. Motherhood moment and some deja vu Making her Met Gala debut with a baby bump and a bold message, Kiara Advani wore a sculptural Gaurav Gupta gown that fused fashion and motherhood. Kiara’s gown featured an antique gold breastplate adorned with ghungroos and crystals. Two symbolic forms — Mother Heart and Baby Heart — were linked by a chain umbilical cord, representing motherhood. Her double-panelled cape paid tribute to the late Andre Leon Talley, legendary fashion editor and Black icon. The look earned praise for the hairstyle and her pregnancy glow, but also sparked déja vu — the breastplate is the mainstay of many Gaurav Gupta outfits. Fans were quick to note its resemblance to earlier designs and even Aishwarya Rai’s Cannes appearances. Still, Kiara carried it off with grace. Old glamour, new chic In comparison to other Indians on the blue carpet, Priyanka Chopra’s look was a tad understated, but it does not mean that the confident diva did not serve. In fact, she was one of the few who followed the theme, wearing a sharply-tailored gown with polka dot nostalgia. What also caught everyone’s attention was the tennis-ball sized emerald in her Bvlgari necklace. Dressed in a polka dot jacket, matching dress and a flowing train, Priyanka made a dazzling entry. Fans gasped as she removed her jacket in a dramatic flourish, revealing a stylish dress, designed by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain. An oversized black hat completed her look.
