Hyderabad: A coordination meeting was held at the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre (TGiCCC), chaired by Director V.B. Kamalasan Reddy (Retd), on Thursday to enhance monsoon preparedness by integrating meteorological data into emergency response systems.Head of IMD Hyderabad Dr. K. Nagaratna presented the department’s forecasting capabilities, including nowcast, mid-range, and satellite-based predictions. She highlighted the use of doppler radar and GIS tools for accurate weather monitoring.Officials discussed syncing IMD data with TGiCCC systems such as ITMS, ANPR, PAS, and VMBs to streamline public alerts. Past heavy rainfall events and the 2025 Southwest Monsoon were reviewed, along with strategies for advisory dissemination via platforms like the SACHET app. The meeting concluded with a joint commitment to use advanced tech and inter-departmental coordination to ensure public safety during the monsoon season.
