Hyderabad:The Telangana BC Students Association staged a protest at BC Bhavan in Vidyanagar on Monday, demanding the release of Rs 4,000 crore in pending fee reimbursements for 16.75 lakh students. The protest coincided with the state government’s one-year governance celebrations.Association president Vemula Ramakrishna said students pursuing higher education were facing severe hardships as colleges withheld certificates due to unpaid fees. Without these certificates, many are unable to continue their studies or secure jobs.National BC Welfare Association president R. Krishnaiah accused officials of trying to dismantle the fee reimbursement scheme, which has provided opportunities for marginalised students over the past 16 years.
