Techie Allegedly Shoots Estranged Wife Dead

Bengaluru:A techie allegedly shot dead his estranged wife, bank assistant manager bank Bhuvaneshwari, 39, on Magadi road here on Tuesday, and surrendered to the Magadi police. The accused, Balamurugan, 40, a software engineer, shot his wife four times using a pistol, police said.Police said Balamurugan lay in wait at about 6.30 pm and shot Bhuvaneshari was walking home from work. She suffered serious injuries and died in a hospital. The couple has two children.Police said Balamurugan and Bhuvaneshwari, belonging to Salem of Tamil Nadu, were separated for over a year-and-half after 14 years of their marriage. He allegedly suspected his wife of having an affair. Bhuvaneshwari had filed for divorce and Balamurugan had reportedly received a legal notice week back.Bhuvaneshwari had shifted from Whitefield to Rajajinagar about six months back. Balamurugan tracked her down and watched movements.
