Sunny Deol in Talks to Play Lord Hanuman in Ramayan R-Verse Movie

Sunny Deol is all set for another thunderous comeback with the massive success of *Gadar: The Katha Continues* being a testament to this. The veteran actor is rumored to be leading the pack for a role in a musical action film based on Lord Hanuman in a project called ‘Ramayan Universe’, which is otherwise referred to as ‘R-Verse’.As rumored in film circles, this project with a focus on Hanuman is being fast-tracked by producer Namit Malhotra, CEO of Double Negative, leading the charge in developing this larger franchise in “Ramayan.” “This film will hopefully break the rules in terms of action, in terms of music, in terms of stunt design,” says producer Namit Malhotra. “We want to make a movie which will thrill devotees of traditional ‘Ramayan’ in addition to appealing to a whole new generationAccording to insiders, “The film is a ‘mythological-pop opera with thunderous action.’ The storyline reportedly marries ‘devotion with high octane action, with dramatic numbers, aerial battles, flaming torch action, and a spectacular 12-minute battle hymn the emotional peak of the movie.’ The epic scale treats Lord Hanuman’s ‘legend in a way unlike typical mythologies.’”A source related to this project explained, “The idea of creating a separate film on Hanuman was conceived when they were working on ‘Ramayana.’ ‘The moment they saw the first draft of Hanuman’s portions in ‘Ramayana,’ they knew that he had a stage for himself.
