Kurnool:Industries and commerce minister T.G. Bharath emphasised that the future of the state lies in the strength of its education system. He participated as the chief guest at the Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting 2.0 held at Kurnool Town Model High School and Government Junior College.Speaking at the event, the minister said students must take charge of their academic journey, while parents should support their children’s educational aspirations instead of pushing them into unwanted directions. He urged parents to stay in close contact with teachers to monitor their children’s progress.The minister lauded education minister Nara Lokesh for taking robust steps to strengthen the public education system, including filling teacher vacancies and ensuring the timely distribution of quality school kits comprising nutritious food, uniforms, books, shoes, and bags. He noted that 97 per cent of mothers had successfully received funds under the ‘Thalli ki Vandanam’ scheme, with pending cases mostly due to Aadhaar or account-related issues.Minister Bharath also recalled his family’s contribution to the school during his father’s tenure as the Minister for Minor Irrigation, which included the construction of 22 classrooms, an auditorium, and a mineral water plant.Meanwhile, at a parallel Mega PTM in Kolimigundla, roads and buildings minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy addressed parents and teachers, assuring solutions to infrastructure issues such as dining halls, washrooms, and water supply. He promised new facilities and repairs from his own funds, reinforcing the government’s commitment to public education.
