Hyderabad:To stop sewage flowing into the Osmansagar, HYDRAA has installed shutter gates to the Balkapur nala. Dirty water from Khanapur and Nagulapalli was flowing towards the lake through the Balkapur nala.The old gates, which were damaged, used to allow sewage into the lake during heavy rains. HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath inspected the site along with officials and ordered immediate repairs. The damaged gates were replaced, and garbage blocking the nala was also cleared to ensure smooth flow.Minority Pupils Told to Apply for SchemeHyderabad:The Association for Socio-Economic Empowerment of the Marginalised (ASEEM) has called on students from minority communities in Telangana to apply for the Corporate College Scheme 2025-26. The scheme, announced by the state’s Scheduled Castes development department, offers Intermediate education and Eapcet coaching to students from SC, ST, BC, minority, and disabled backgrounds.Those who scored a minimum CGPA of 7.0 or secured 400 marks or more in the SSC exams this year can apply. The initiative allows entry into private junior colleges that offer structured coaching alongside regular academics.Registrations open from May 17 to May 31. A list of selected candidates will be released on June 5, followed by certificate verification on June 10. Applications must be submitted online through the official e-Pass portal.S.Q. Masood, ASEEM secretary, said the scheme offered a crucial step forward for students who often face barriers in accessing quality academic support. He encouraged families to act promptly and give their children a better chance at higher education.
