Warangal: The Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway (SCR) conducted essay writing, drawing and painting competitions for school students at Begumpet, Ramagundam, Karimnagar, and Warangal on Monday. The competitions were held on the themes ‘Mera Amrit Station’ and ‘Operation Sindoor: Veerta Ki Misaal’.The initiative comes in the run-up to the virtual inauguration of 103 redeveloped Amrit Stations by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 22. Among them are three modernised railway stations in Telangana—Begumpet, Karimnagar and Warangal—that are under the Secunderabad Division. These stations have been upgraded under the ministry of railways’ Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS), which aims to modernise railway stations by enhancing passenger amenities.A total of 170 students enthusiastically participated in the competitions across the four locations. At Begumpet, events were held at two private schools with 75 participants. In Warangal, competitions took place at the Railway Institute and Kazipet, drawing 70 students from four private educational institutions. At Ramagundam and Karimnagar, over 25 students from various schools took part.The SCR will award first, second, and third prizes in each category at the respective railway stations on the day of the Prime Minister’s virtual inauguration. Chief guests will present the awards.SCR general manager Arun Kumar Jain lauded the students’ enthusiastic participation and said such events capture the creativity and vision of young minds on how they view a developed India and the transformative role railways will play in it.
