SCR GM Reviews Safety, Facilities

Vijayawada: South Central Railway general manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, on Saturday carried out an extensive inspection of the Vijayawada division to review safety measures, passenger amenities and the progress of station redevelopment works under the Amrit Stations scheme.The inspection began at Tanuku, where the General Manager examined track safety at Point No.103B (KM 137/04–10) and reviewed safety arrangements at Level Crossing Gate No.151. He later inspected Narsapur Railway Station, assessing passenger amenities, the circulating area, coach depot and yard, and reviewed the status of redevelopment works. At Bhimavaram, Srivastava inspected track maintenance and safety at Curve No.32 (KM 107) in the yard and reviewed passenger facilities at Bhimavaram Town Railway Station. He also inspected Level Crossing Gate No.95 and Upputeru Bridge No.149 in the section. The General Manager visited the traction sub-station near Gudivada and later inspected Gudivada Railway Station, where he reviewed the renovated waiting hall, washrooms and other passenger amenities. The inspection concluded at Machilipatnam Railway Station, where he assessed passenger facilities, inspected the station master’s office and circulating area, and reviewed the progress of Amrit Station redevelopment works. He directed officials to ensure strict safety norms at construction sites and expedite works to meet scheduled deadlines. During the visit, the General Manager also received representations from public representatives regarding various railway development works in the region.
