In a major setback to YSRC former social media convener Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, the Supreme Court denied to grant anticipatory bail in connection with the cases related to indecent posts on social media. However, it provided interim relief from arrest for two weeks, during which the petitioner was ordered to approach the trial court. The two-Judge bench including Justice Mittal, Justice SVN Bhatti expressed serious displeasure over Bhargava Reddy and the content posted on social media, under his supervision. “Do you think we do not understand the posts you posted on social media? Can’t we understand the intention behind the posts? The content in the posts has gone beyond tolerable levels. A mistake is always a mistake, irrespective of those who did it. So the system would not forgive you… you will be punished. Don’t think that you would get the bail easily. If bail is given to you, everybody would begin acting as they wish,” the Supreme Court said.
