Sachin Tendulkar Participates in Reddit AMA, Shares Hilarious Response to Aadhaar Card Question

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar recently engaged in a candid conversation with fans on social media platform Reddit during his ‘Ask Me Anything’ (AMA) session. The former Indian captain humorously answered questions about his personal and professional life, including his views on several cricket-related topics.

During the session, fans asked Tendulkar about his son Arjun Tendulkar’s engagement to Saniya Chandok, his experiences with umpire Steve Bucknor, and his opinions on players like Joe Root, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli. When asked to send a message to Bucknor, with whom he had several disputes on the field, Tendulkar jokingly replied, “Give him boxing gloves when he’s umpiring (so he can’t raise his finger).”

Tendulkar and Bucknor have one of the most infamous player-umpire relationships in cricket history. Bucknor, a Jamaican umpire, has officiated in five World Cup finals. He made several contentious decisions against Tendulkar, particularly during the 2003-04 Australian tour and the 2005 match against Pakistan. However, Tendulkar has always remembered Bucknor with humor and respect.

Tendulkar confirmed that his son Arjun has gotten engaged to Saniya Chandok, Awam Ka Sach had recently been reported, but neither Tendulkar nor Saniya’s family had officially confirmed it.

Tendulkar also responded to a fan’s question about proving his identity by sending a voice note. He posted a picture of himself on the platform and humorously said, “Should I send my Aadhaar card too?”

Tendulkar praised Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for their contributions to Indian cricket, saying that their recent performances demonstrate that the country’s cricket future is in safe hands. He also commended Joe Root’s consistency, calling his run-scoring ability “unbelievable.” Tendulkar recalled Root’s debut in 2012 at Nagpur, saying, “13000 runs is a remarkable achievement, and he’s still performing exceptionally well. When I first saw him in 2012, I told my teammates that he would be England’s future captain. The way he understood the wicket and rotated the strike impressed me, and I knew he would become a big player.”
