RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat urges unified, selfless effort for nation's progress

In a recent interview with a group of journalists, RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat shared insights into the organisation’s ideology, its service to the nation, the challenges it faces, and the functioning of the Sangh. He also addresses several misconceptions held by external sections about the RSS.Dr. Bhagwat reflected on the post-1990s era, highlighting it as a turning point when it was proved that the country could be governed based on the core thought process and values that the RSS upholds. “After the 1990s, it was proved that the nation can be governed based on this thought and qualities. Now, the next stage is to ensure that, following the same thought process and qualities, the entire society works with sincerity and selflessness, leaving aside all differences, and starts working for the nation to take it to the pinnacle of glory,” he stated. He stated that national progress depends not just on policies or leadership but on the unified and genuine contribution of every citizen. According to him, selfless service and a sincere commitment to the nation must become society’s shared mantra.A key focus of Dr. Bhagwat’s address was the need for unity across social lines, urging people to transcend caste and creed. He said this is crucial to preserving the true spirit of Sanatana Dharma, which he described as a timeless, universal way of life that promotes truth, compassion, and righteousness.“Sanatana Dharma is not confined to any particular set of rituals or narrow definitions. It is about embracing values that benefit all humanity,” he said. The Sangh chief also spoke about the importance of nurturing cultural pride, discipline, and service-mindedness in the younger generations. He reaffirmed that the RSS is not politically driven but exists to serve society and nurture a strong, culturally conscious Bharat.Addressing criticism and misconceptions about the RSS, Dr. Bhagwat encouraged open dialogue and urged people to judge the organisation by its work on the ground. He welcomed scrutiny but called for it to be rooted in understanding and fairness. In conclusion, Dr. Bhagwat called upon all sections of society to align with a larger national vision, leaving behind personal or group interests. He expressed hope that with a united and selfless effort, India can become not only materially prosperous but also spiritually elevated, living up to its civilizational ideals.
