Khammam: Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao along with District Collector Jitesh V. Patil distributed new ration cards to beneficiaries on Friday, July 25.Speaking at the event, the Collector said, “There’s no need to worry if you haven’t received a ration card yet. Ration cards will be issued to all eligible beneficiaries, and the process is ongoing. Thousands of applications are pending at the District Civil Supply Office, and we are working to approve them as quickly as possible.”Reflecting on his childhood, the Collector shared, “My mother used to bring rice from the Fair Price Shop and cook with it. She made sweets from broken rice. I understand the importance of ration rice.”He clarified that those who applied under the Prajavani program do not need to reapply.MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao stated, “After many years, ration cards are being issued to eligible beneficiaries. In this constituency, 4,463 ration cards have been sanctioned, covering 7,862 individuals. Around 600 to 700 applications were rejected because the applicants’ annual income exceeded Rs. 2 lakh. There is no deadline for applying, and the process will continue.” He thanked the Congress government, noting that CM Revanth Reddy is systematically addressing pending development works in phases.The MLA added, “Indiramma houses will also be distributed to eligible beneficiaries in a phased manner, with strict transparency maintained at all levels.”Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy officially launched the program on July 14 in Tirumalagiri, Tungaturthi constituency.
