ADILABAD: Private traders continued to buy cotton from farmers in Adilabad district, with ginning factory owners expressing their willingness to buy after talks with the state government on Monday.Meanwhile, farmers in Nirmal staged a rasta roko protest, demanding that the state government purchase their cotton, which caused traffic to come to a halt over a long distance.Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao intervened to address the objections raised by ginning factory owners regarding the Cotton Corporation of India’s (CCI) grading system. The minister assured farmers not to panic, stating that cotton purchases would continue as usual.
