Actor Prakash Raj spoke with the media on Wednesday after appearing before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials in Hyderabad for questioning in a money laundering case linked to illegal online betting and gambling by certain platforms.”I was asked to come on July 30 and I came here. They asked me about my connection with betting apps and I clearly gave my version. I told them that I just promoted it long back. Later, I realised that it was unhealthy and stopped it,” he said.The versatile actor also said that officials asked him about financial gains made out of it. “I didn’t take any money and they found my statement right after verifying my accounts” he adds. Prakash Raj claimed he had endorsed one app in 2016 and ED officials were doing their job. “As a responsible citizen, I have come here to support their measures,” he informs.In addition, he urged youngsters not to fall prey to betting apps and work hard to make money. “Money earned through hard work is best bet and you can have peaceful sleep. I have not been asked to come again,” he concludes.Earlier today, the actor, popular in Telugu, Kannada and other South Indian films, appeared before officials of the probe agency at its zonal office and was questioned for over four hours.
