�Hyderabad:�After revamping the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) last week, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday announced redistribution of portfolios among senior officers to streamline governance and ensure better coordination across departments.
CM’s principal secretary V. Sheshadri will continue as CMO in-charge and has been entrusted with key portfolios. According to the orders, Sheshadri will oversee general administration, law and order, law department, home, finance, planning, legislative affairs, land revenue, food, civil supplies and consumer affairs, agriculture, animal husbandry and dairy development, as well as cooperation and marketing.
The orders specified that Sheshadri would supervise and coordinate the work of all other officers and staff within the CMO. All major policy issues are required to be discussed with him prior to decisions being made.
Retired IAS officer K. Sreenivasa Raju, recently inducted into the CMO as principal secretary, has been assigned the portfolios of transport, roads & buildings, housing, endowments, information & public relations, sports, youth services, culture, and tourism.
CM’s secretary K. Manicka Raj has been allocated the municipal administration & urban development, irrigation, revenue (commercial tax, prohibition & excise), mines & geology, health, medical and family welfare, disaster management, and panchayat raj and rural development (including rural water supply) portfolios.
CM’s special secretary B. Ajith Reddy will handle energy, education (school, higher and technical), industries (including investments), IT, electronics & communications, labour, employment training & factories, as well as responsibilities related to CM security, appointments, and CMO administration.
CM’s officer on special duty Vemula Srinivasulu, has been assigned portfolios of women, child, disabled and senior citizens welfare, environment, forest, science and technology, welfare (SC, ST, BC & Minority), petitions, Prajavani, Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), and computerization.
