Ponguleti Distributes Cycles to Girl Students as Part of PSR Trust Initiative

Nalgonda: Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Thursday assured that he would personally support students in their academic journey and help them become top performers.Speaking after laying the foundation stone for the construction of a Government Junior College at Kusumanchi in Khammam district, an initiative taken up at an estimated cost of ₹5.5 crore, he also distributed bicycles to Class VIII students of the Zilla Parishad High School. The minister said the Ponguleti Swarajyamma and Raghava Reddy (PSR) Trust, established in memory of his parents, has been actively engaged in social welfare, particularly in supporting students. He noted that bicycles have been distributed to girl students studying from Class VIII to Class X and assured that the facility will be extended to Intermediate students starting from the next academic year. He further stated that measures have been taken up for the development of educational institutions in the Palair Assembly constituency at an estimated cost of ₹450 crore. Highlighting the Congress government’s commitment to student welfare, the minister pointed out that, over the past one and a half years, diet charges for hostel students have been increased by 40 percent and cosmetic allowances by 200 per cent.
