Picturesque Bogatha Welcomes Tourists Again

WARANGAL: The picturesque Bogatha waterfalls, located in Wazedu mandal of Mulugu district, is welcoming tourists once again, thanks to conditional access granted by forest officials on Tuesday. Recent heavy rainfall has significantly increased the waterfall’s flow, creating a stunning sight. For the past ten days, continuous rain had caused Bogatha waterfalls to swell to dangerous levels, prompting authorities to close the site for public safety. However, with water levels receding slightly since Monday, officials have decided to reopen the area, although visitors are not allowed to enter the water pool at the base of the falls. This restriction is necessary due to the unpredictable nature of water flows and heavy inflows from upstream, which could suddenly increase water levels. In a statement, officials also announced the permanent closure of several other waterfalls in the region due to safety concerns. These closures include Muthyam Dhara, Kongala, Maidiloddi, and Krishnapuram waterfalls. They warned that any violations of this advisory would result in stringent action, including the registration of necessary forest and police cases against offenders.
