Versatile actor Pankaj Tripathi hails from Belsand, a village in the Gopalganj district in the state of Bihar. A farmer’s son, Pankaj has seen the village life and the problems that lie within it from extremely close quarters. His dreams led him to adapt to the urban life of Mumbai but he has not forgotten his roots. When he was contacted by the authorities of the State Election Commission, Bihar, to spread the message about the importance of Panchayat elections in a villager’s life, he jumped upon the idea. He understands that every level of governance needs to be strengthened from its roots for the country’s progress. Over 68% of the Indian population lives in rural India and it is of extreme importance that this section understands the importance of governance and participates wholeheartedly.
