New Delhi: As the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state’s electoral rolls continues, the Election Commission (EC) has identified over 5.76 lakh electors in Bihar who are enrolled at multiple locations and more than 12.55 lakh who are likely deceased.According to official data, out of nearly 7.90 crore electors, over 35.69 lakh were not found at their registered addresses during house-to-house visits conducted by booth-level officers. Additionally, more than 17.37 lakh electors are believed to have permanently shifted from their registered locations. The EC noted that these figures are subject to change as the revision process progresses. On July 14, the poll panel announced that the names of over 6.60 crore voters, constituting 83.66 per cent of the total 7.89 crore electors in Bihar, will be included in the draft electoral roll scheduled for publication on August 1. The list will include all voters whose application forms were received by the designated deadline. To ensure broad participation, the EC is making focused efforts, including newspaper advertisements and direct outreach, particularly targeting voters who may have temporarily migrated out of the state. These initiatives aim to help such individuals complete their Enumeration Forms (EFs) on time and ensure their names are included in the draft roll.
