Hyderabad: Excise police cracked down on drug peddling in separate operations, arresting multiple persons and seizing narcotics, including am Overseas Citizen of India card holder in possession of cocaine. In the first case, an excise special task force (STF) led by Anji Reddy nabbed three men near Abids with 33.3 grams of cocaine. The accused were identified as Zubair Ali, an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), along with Mizbanuddin Khan and Ali Asgar Gulabi. An officer told Deccan Chronicle that Zubair held American citizenship and had come down home to visit his mother and was scheduled to return abroad in a month. He allegedly procured cocaine from a contact in Bengaluru and brought it to Hyderabad for consumption and selling at higher prices. In another operation, Shamshabad excise officials intercepted a scooter transporting 5.88 grams of MDMA. The accused are Mirza Safi Ali, Abdul Syed, and Abdul Hussain were taken into custody. Separately, in Serlingampally, officials arrested Nagula Sai Praveen, Manochandar, and Sri Vardhan while they were attempting to sell drugs at Kajaguda. About 2.07 grams of MDMA was seized from their possession.
