New Delhi:Vowing to drive out infiltrators from the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday asserted that his government at the Centre will not allow the infiltrators to eat away the jobs of youths in Bihar and West Bengal, where he unveiled infrastructure projects worth over Rs 18,000 crores.Stressing the Centre’s pitch against corruption, Mr Modi slammed the Opposition parties for opposing the proposed Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill 2025, introduced by the government. He said that under the new law, corrupt individuals will not only go to jail but will also lose their positions of power.Reiterating his pledge to throw out infiltrators from the country in both Bihar and West Bengal, the Prime Minister said, “A crackdown has been underway against infiltration in those countries which are called developed nations and have no dearth of resources. India also cannot tolerate the infiltrators anymore. Shouldn’t they be thrown out? Shouldn’t they go? Shouldn’t they be driven out?”With an eye on the upcoming Assembly elections, Mr Modi called for a “real change” and pointed out, “It’s neither Modi nor the BJP. It’s your vote. Cast your votes and all the infiltrators will start running away. We have to provide employment to our youth and facilities to our citizens from our limited resources.”The Prime Minister pointed out that the demographic profile of Bihar and West Bengal’s border districts is changing rapidly. He affirmed that his government has resolved not to let infiltrators decide the future of the nation.“We will not allow the infiltrators, who snatch jobs meant for our youth, put pressure on our infrastructure and unleash atrocities on our women, to live in India. That is why the government of India has launched a massive operation against them,” he said. The Prime Minister asserted that every infiltrator will be expelled from the country, urging the people to remain vigilant against those within the country who support infiltrators.Coming down heavily on the Opposition, the Prime Minister alleged, “Sadly, the TMC, the Congress and some parties of the INDIA bloc have knelt down to their politics of appeasement. They are encouraging infiltration for their greed of power. At some places, they are seen to have taken shelter from the infiltrators.”“Those who came here to snatch jobs of our people and have secured their stay by forging documents will have to leave. Therefore, the TMC government also needs to go from power so that the job of throwing out the infiltrators can be carried out honestly,” Mr Modi said, sending a stern warning to the illegal immigrants from Kolkata.Hitting out at the Opposition parties for opposing the Constitution (130th Amendment) Bill 2025, introduced by the government, Mr Modi said that his government will take the fight against corruption to its logical conclusion. No one should be outside the scope of action.Speaking in Gaya, Mr Modi proudly claimed that there has been “no taint of corruption” in his 11-year-old government and said that, in contrast, the Opposition governments, which ruled for six to six-and-a-half decades after Independence, have a long list of corruption cases. The corruption of the Opposition parties is known to every child in Bihar.Pointing out that the current law under which even a junior government employee is automatically suspended if held in custody for 48 hours, Mr Modi questioned how it is possible that a chief minister or a minister can enjoy the privileges of power even while in jail.”We have seen a regrettable situation in which people in seats of power have been running governments from jail, signing files from behind bars, tearing to shreds constitutional propriety,” the Prime Minister said, adding that if this is the attitude of political leaders, then how can the fight against corruption be effectively pursued?Emphasising that the Indian Constitution expects honesty and transparency from every public representative, Mr Modi stressed that the dignity of the Constitution must not be allowed to be torn apart.Mr Modi said that his government is bringing a stringent anti-corruption law that will apply even to the Prime Minister. Chief ministers and ministers will also be covered under this law.Criticising the opposition parties for opposing this legislation, Mr Modi stated that their anger stems from fear. “Those who have committed wrongdoings may hide them from others, but they themselves are aware of their actions,” he said.Mr Modi further stated that some leaders from the Opposition parties are out on bail, while others are entangled in legal proceedings related to scams. These individuals fear that if they go to jail, their political dreams will be shattered. “This is why they are opposing the proposed law,” he said and mentioned that leaders like Rajendra Babu and Babasaheb Ambedkar could never have imagined that power-hungry individuals would commit corruption and cling to office even while in jail. The Prime Minister asserted that under the new law, corrupt individuals will not only go to jail but will also lose their positions of power. “The resolve to free India from corruption is a collective commitment of crores of citizens. And this resolve will be fulfilled,” he said.In Kolkata, Mr Modi also tried to woo the Bengalis with his government’s initiatives for their language and culture to counter the TMC’s charges of attacks on the migrant workers from Bengal on the suspicion of being Bangladeshi nationals based on their mother tongue in the BJP-ruled states.“West Bengal has plenty of history and culture. Bangla Virasat will give inspiration to build a Viksit Bengal. The BJP government has proudly been engaged in empowering the Bangla language and its culture. It is our good fortune that we got the opportunity to accord Bangla the classical language status. When the BJP government will be formed here, we will plan to push heritage tourism. There is a huge prospect of cruise tourism in the sea and inland waterways in Ganga river,” the Prime Minister said.Describing Operation Sindoor as “a pledge he took on the soil of Bihar”, the Prime Minister said, “Now, the message is loud and clear that no terrorist can escape after striking anywhere on Indian soil. Our missiles will hunt them down to the patal lok (deepest recesses of the earth).””Pakistan tried to retaliate, but none of its missiles could hit us. Humne unke missiles ko tinke ki tarah uda diya (we blew away their missiles like pieces of straw,” said Mr Modi.
