Nellore Collector Urges NUDA to Focus on People-Centric Development

NELLORE: Emphasising the need for people-centric development, district collector Himanshu Shukla has advised the Nellore Urban Development Authority (NUDA) to take up projects that directly benefit the public and enhance the authority’s goodwill.Presiding over the NUDA Authority meeting at the NUDA office in Vedayapalem on Tuesday, the collector said NUDA should work with fresh and innovative ideas to build a distinct identity and emerge as a strong brand. With NUDA’s jurisdiction expanding rapidly and industrial growth gathering pace, he said the authority’s role would be crucial in developing housing, educational institutions, health-care facilities and other essential infrastructure. The collector suggested that NUDA focus on prestigious and people-friendly projects, including MIG housing schemes and recreational facilities such as amusement parks, water parks and adventure parks, on a public–private partnership (PPP) basis to improve quality of life and public engagement. The meeting was attended by NUDA chairman Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, vice-chairman and joint collector Mogili Venkateshwarlu, and other officials. Various agenda items were discussed and approved during the meeting.
