Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has reviewed the situation caused due to heavy rainfall in several parts of the state and directed Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand to alert district collectors to initiate all requisite measures to avoid any loss of life and property.The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary here on Monday that authorities concerned should be directed to take all measures to avoid any untoward incidents as rivers, streams and rivulets were overflowing in several parts mainly in north Andhra region. The people living in hilly areas should be protected and give holiday to educational institutions in case of heavy rains continue, Naidu said. The Chief Minister has called for setting up control rooms in district head quarters and providing information to the people on the flood situation. He underscored the need that all departments concerned should work in coordination to deal with the heavy rains and floods across the state.
