Minor, unable to bear harassment, dies by suicide

Hyderabad: A sixteen-year-old Class 9 student died by suicide in Balajinagar allegedly after she was harassed by a 19-year-old from her neighbourhood, Jawaharnagar Police said on Friday.Jawaharnagar circle inspector G. Nagaraju said the alleged stalker, Shiva Reddy, has been taken into police custody.On Wednesday, Shiva told the deceased’s mother that he wanted to marry her daughter, the CI said. However, the mother counselled the two and settled the matter.A case was registered under sections 107, 78 of BNS, section 11 r/w 12 of the Pocso Act and sections 3(2), (5a) of the SC/ST Atrocities Act.
