WARANGAL: The state government’s digital governance initiative, the Mee Ticket mobile app, is proving instrumental in managing the flow of pilgrims and streamlining services during the ongoing Saraswati Pushkaralu at Kaleshwaram in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district. The 12-day Pushkaralu, which began on May 15, has witnessed a steady increase in footfall. On the third day alone, an estimated 1.2 lakh devotees arrived to take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam — the confluence of the Godavari, Pranahita and Saraswati rivers. To handle the surge, officials have deployed the Mee Ticket app for digital ticketing and real-time coordination of services. The app provides access to bathing ghats, parking zones, public amenities and details of cultural programmes being held as part of the festivities. Launched on January 9 by IT minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu, the app has recorded over 50,000 downloads and facilitated transactions worth more than `1 crore. At Kaleshwaram, the app enables devotees to book entry tickets, receive updates on events, and access key logistical details such as shuttle bus timings, food distribution points, and emergency contact services. Officials say this has helped reduce crowding, eliminated the need for cash transactions and improved the overall experience for pilgrims.
