Hyderabad: A 64-year-old man was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by a court in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Tuesday for sexually assaulting a minor girl. The accused Bachhan Prasad Shah, a resident of Malkajgiri, was also fined Rs.5,000.The court provided a compensation of Rs.5 lakh to the victim. The incident took place in the Nacharam police station area in 2021. Shah was found guilty of rape, wrongful confinement as well as under the Pocso Act. Additional public prosecutors Upender and Susheela argued the case on behalf of the prosecution.
