Hyderabad: R. Devender Reddy, a 35-year-old man car driver, died after the bike he was riding skidded in Rayalapur in Medchal at 11.30 pm on Monday. Medchal police said he was travelling home to Kanukunta and was speeding when the accident occurred. Locals noticed the accident only in the morning and called the police who shifted the body to a hospital, informed the family and started an investigation.Cocaine case: Cops seek doc custodyHyderabad: The Raidurgam police on Tuesday applied for the custody of Dr Chigurupati Namrata, former CEO of a cancer hospital, after she was apprehended near Raidurgam bus stop while purchasing 53 grams of cocaine. Raidurgam inspector Ch Venkanna said they wanted to question her in custody to trace the narcotics supplier Vansh Thakkar of Mumbai. Police said he appeared to be about 65 years old. Police were informed by ambulance personnel who had been called to the spot by passersby. When he went to sister’s house in Annapurna Colony, Uppal, he found the accused trying to attack the women. Chandrayangutta Police Arrest Man for Murdering Woman, Burning BodyHyderabad:Chandrayangutta arrested one Zulfeqar Ali, a mason, for allegedly murdering his lover and partially burning her body to destroy the evidence, on May 8. According to Chandrayangutta station house officer R. Gopi, Ali allegedly murdered Kethavath Bujji after an argument at her house in Keshavagiri Upper Hills, tried to set her body on fire, and fled.Three police teams tracked down Ali, the SHO said. Southeast zone DCP Patil Kantilal Subash announced a reward to the investigation officer and staff for their prompt investigation.Police said Ali, a married man, had shifted from his house in Jalpally and rented a room adjacent to the victim’s house in Keshavagiri Upper Hills. Police said he began resenting her after she started asking for marriage.On May 7, while he was at work, Bujji asked him to bring fish curry to her house. When he refused, Bujji reportedly abused him and denied him intimacy. This resulted in her murder, police said.Software Engineer Held for Assaulting Ex-GirlfriendHyderabad:Police arrested software engineer Koti Akhil Kumar for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend and reportedly threatening her to prevent her from getting married to another person. Police said Akhil Kumar had started stalking the victim for some time.A couple of days ago, when the victim was returning home, Akhil Kumar followed her, barged into her room and forcibly collected her pictures with her boyfriend. When she tried to stop him, Akhil reportedly assaulted her. The victim informed her parents and later lodged a complaint with the Banjara Hills police.Akhil Kumar was arrested in cases of outraging modesting, causing bleeding injuries, threatening to post private videos on social media and harassment. He was later produced before a magistrate who remanded him to judicial custody.
