Adilabad: Former Sirpur (T) MLA and Congress leader Koneru Konappa has announced his decision to quit the Congress once again, hinting that he may return to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) if political circumstances change in the future. However, he ruled out any possibility of rejoining the Congress.Addressing a meeting of his supporters and sympathisers in Kothaguda village of Chinthalamanepalli mandal on Sunday night, Konappa said he continues to hold BRS chief and former chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in high regard. “KCR is like a god to us for allocating significant funds for the development of the Sirpur constituency,” he said, adding that he has no differences with KCR or his family members.Speaking to the media on Monday, Konappa accused BJP and Congress leaders of working in close coordination in the constituency. He alleged that rural development minister Seethakka had failed to release development funds for the area despite multiple appeals. He further claimed that the Congress leadership had attempted to poach his supporters by offering them contract works.Konappa expressed disappointment that the Congress had used his services during the recent Parliament elections but ignored him thereafter. He had earlier resigned from the BRS after the party inducted R.S. Praveen Kumar, former BSP state president and Konappa’s rival in the last Assembly elections, into its fold.Weaver kills self after wife’s suicideNalgonda: About 14 days after his wife died by suicide, a 42-year-old weaver, Goshipaka Bhasker, also ended his life at Koyagudem in Choutuppal mandal of Yadadri-Bhongir district on Tuesday.According to police, Bhasker consumed a chemical used in the tie-and-dye process of weaving sarees.
