Khammam: A 26-year-old student from Khammam was shot dead in Chicago on Friday night during an apparent robbery bid. The victim, Nukarapu Sai Teja, younger son of Koteshwar Rao and Vani, had travelled to the US four months ago to pursue an MS degree at the Concordia University, Wisconsin. According to his relatives, Sai Teja had been working in a shopping mall for the past few days. Two unidentified persons entered the outlet on Friday night and shot him dead after grabbing money. Another report Sai Teja was not on duty when the incident happened but was helping a friend who asked him to stay on for some time. The friend had gone out on some work.A pall of gloom descended on Raparthinagar as his relatives and friends reached his house to console his parents.MLC Tata Madhusudhan visited the house of Sai Teja and spoke with leaders of the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) in the US to help in shifting the body of Sai Teja to his native place. The body is expected to reach home next week.
