Warangal:The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) carried out a nine-day counter-insurgency operation to curb Maoists entry in Karregutta hills near the Telangana and Chhattisgarh border.Using advanced surveillance tools like drones and helicopters, the security forces scouted and accessed challenging terrain within the dense forest.Intelligence Bureau (IB) Tapan Kumar Deka gave special priority to the operation by personally visiting the Karregutta area to receive updates directly from CRPF officials.During the course of the mission, CRPF personnel identified and neutralised several Maoist dumps and underground bunkers. This success is being hailed as a major milestone in the efforts to dismantle Maoist infrastructure in the region. The authorities decided to establish a permanent CRPF base camp in the Karregutta hills. This camp will serve as a critical link between Chhattisgarh and Telangana allowing for rapid response and coordinated action against Maoist activities. As part of the continuing effort, the initial team involved in the operation has been sent back with fresh forces deployed to continue the momentum.
