The centre’s managers produced a forged drug licence during the raid, said V.B. Kamlasan Reddy, DG, DCA.
The DCA seized sex hormones, progesterone capsules, hormone and steroid injections, anti-ulcer drugs, and antibiotics. The original drug licenses are issued through the Online Drug Licensing System (ODLS) website of DCA, he said. The public may verify the certificate on the dcA website he said.
The public may report any complaint through the DCA, TS, on the tollfree number 1800-599-6969 that functions from 10.30 am to 5 pm on working days. Stocking and sale of medicines without a valid drug license is punishable under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act with imprisonment up to five years, Reddy said.
