Google has officially launched its AI coding agent, Jules, moving it out of beta months after its public preview in May.Jules is an asynchronous, agentic coding assistant powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, and integrates directly with GitHub. It clones codebases into Google Cloud virtual machines, understands full project context, and performs coding tasks, Google said.Originally introduced in December via Google Labs, Jules became available to beta testers through public preview at the Google I/O developer conference.“During the beta, thousands of developers tackled tens of thousands of tasks, resulting in over 140,000 code improvements shared publicly. Thanks to developer feedback, we’ve polished the user interface, fixed hundreds of bugs and launched new capabilities including reusing previous setups so new tasks run faster, GitHub issues integration and multimodal support,” said Google in a blo post. The company added that Jules now uses the advanced thinking capabilities of Gemini 2.5 Pro to develop coding plans, resulting in higher-quality code outputs.Google is introducing structured pricing plans for Jules, starting with an Introductory Access plan that allows up to 15 tasks per day and 3 concurrent tasks. Jules in Google AI Pro and AI Ultra plans are priced at $19.99 (approx. ₹1,749) per month and AI Ultra at $124.99 (approx. ₹10,936) per month, offering 5x and 20x higher usage limits, respectively.
