Kurnool: A video of District Education Officer (DEO) Samuel Paul dancing with women teachers during an official training programme has gone viral on social media, sparking controversy. The incident occurred on August 6 at Lakshmi Srinivasa B.Ed College in B. Thandrapadu of Kurnool, where KGBV teachers were undergoing training.Student unions, including PDSU, on Saturday staged a protest at the Gandhi statue in Kurnool, demanding the suspension of the DEO. PDSU district general secretary Mahendra urged education minister Nara Lokesh to take action against the DEO. Meanwhile, the DEO said the dance was intended solely for fun and carried no other intention. He had already submitted an explanation to higher-ups in the education department, he said.
